This was my first attempt at making french baguette bread. After making the dough and letting it sit overnight in the fridge to retard it, I let it rise the following day and then rolled it into baguette form, put it in the baking form and made diagonal cuts in the top. To top it off perfectly, I made butter from scratch using raw cream! The first time I tried it, it was really easy–I just let it sit till room temperature, and then “overwhipped” it in my stand mixer until the butter separated from the buttermilk, and then I pressed it into a container, salting it.
